SMS Director joins PHS PE Staff

Jonny Davies has joined the PE staff at Poynton High school for the 2007/ 2008 school year as a specialised football coach during PE lessons rangeing from year 7-10, this also includes friday morning 5-a-side football to encourage students with poor attendance records to improve thorough sports and also to gain performance development points. JD has also along side fellow FA qualified coach Sean Kiernan, have taken control of the PHS senior boys for their campaign this year. The seniors are competing in the National, county and district competitons, starting in Bolton on the 25th Septmeber in the national schools cup. SMS Director joins Bolton International Academy

SMS Director of Coaching, Jonny Davies, has joined Bolton International Coaching Academy. Over seeing potential new first team talent for Premiership side Bolton Wanderers and boosting Boltons academy image will be on the menu for Jonny for the next few weeks. Jonny easily passed Bolton's stringent coaching requirements and has already received high praise from Academy Directors.

PHS Girls Team win the Summer Football League

Junior girls' football off to a flyer

The junior girls' football team have entered into the summer football league at Wilmslow High School with five other local schools competing including Knutsford, Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Tytherington and Falibroome. The girls' have got off to a flying start, winning there opening 3 games and scoring 17 goals in the process; beating Wilmslow in their opening game 5-2, they came from behind to beat Tytherington 5-2 and smashed 7 past Alderley Edge, keeping a clean sheet in the process. How ever their most recent performance against league leaders Falibroome showed their strength, attitude and determination when they battled hard and frustrated Falibroome in a well deserved 0-0 draw.

The girls' team train every Tuesday in an after school training programme led by ex pupil Jonny Davies who is a qualified FA coach and runs his own football coaching academy (Soccer Made Simple) in the south Cheshire area. SMS is running an after school boys programme commencing after half term every Thursday.
